One jaw is flat (nylon) and the other is convex shaped (half round)
One of the jaws is nylon this is to stop your item marking when holding the item in the jaws. The cross section of the jaw end has one side half round and the other side flat. This is commonly used to bend rings. The half round jaw curves the metal while the flat side jaw helps reduce marks on the outside of the ring. These 130mm long pliers are not sprung. Made in Germany
