Description

Silver Solder used in joining metals (silver, copper)in jewellery and silversmithing work. Used especially when you want to enamel your work afterwards.

Melting Range: 730-800C

Grade: Enamel

Size: 1.5mm x 1.0mm x 100mm

Length:100 mm (tolerance +/-1mm)

Enamelling solder is used for soldering pieces of silver that will subsequently be enamelled. Here a solder with a high melting point and with low zinc content is required so that the enamelling process neither re-melts the soldered joints nor causes the zinc in the solder to volatilise.

Our Silversolder is a cadmium free silver brazing filler metal designed for use on silver and silver alloys. It is referred to as a silver solder by silversmiths. It is often simply described by using its traditional name Enamel’ which indicates the relative melting temperature of the product.

This solder contains a minimum 80.5% silver and hence can be used as a hallmarking grade silver solder on sterling silver. It has a good melting range and is relatively free flowing producing neat joints with small fillets and also providing a good colour match with silver alloys.
